A six-month personal development course that takes you out of your comfort zone. Towards wellbeing, meaning and effectiveness.

This structured course combines one-to-one sessions, workbook exercises and ongoing reflection to help you understand your patterns, regulate your inner world and create meaningful change in everyday life, in person in Zurich or online.

From Crisis to Contribution

As the world grows more complex, inner development becomes more important.

Inner development in a complex world

The world has never been more complex, more demanding or more distracting. And yet the mind we use to navigate it all is the same mind humans have always had, wired for survival.

We are taught to look outward, to work harder, optimise more and chase better circumstances. But most of what determines how happy, effective and grounded we are has less to do with the outside.

It lives in our beliefs, our patterns, our relationships with others and our own thoughts and feelings. Without inner work, we stay stuck, reacting instead of choosing. Lasting effectiveness and genuine fulfilment are inside jobs.

This course is a training ground for exactly that, developing self-awareness, psychological flexibility and the capacity for conscious action, grounded in robust science. The world won't get simpler. But we can learn to navigate it, and ourselves, more effectively.

  • feel challenged by change, uncertainty or complexity

  • notice that old patterns of thinking and behaving no longer hold up

  • want to guide your mind more consciously and meet inner pressure with more confidence

  • wonder how thoughts, feelings and decisions are connected

  • want to gain more direction, meaning and stability in turbulent times

  • are ready to embody change in everyday life, not only understand it

It is for you if you take inner development seriously and want to work on awareness, self-leadership and concrete change over several months.

This program may be a good fit if you:

Learn more about my approach >>

1. Mindfulness

You learn to arrive more in the present moment and to perceive more consciously what is happening right now, without pushing thoughts away.

2. Self-awareness

We identify beliefs, emotional patterns and unconscious strategies that influence your behaviour.

3. Perception

You recognise how your inner filters shape decisions, relationships and your image of yourself.

4. Self-regulation

You learn to better understand your nervous system and to deal more consciously with difficult thoughts, emotions and bodily reactions instead of letting them take control. Together with self-awareness, this is a core part of emotional intelligence.

5. Direction & Values

We explore what really matters to you and what direction can emerge from that for your personal and professional life. Goal setting starts from your values and interests.

6. Action & Habits

Insights only become effective when they show up in everyday life. So in the end, it is about concrete steps, routines and behaviour.

The idea behind the course: personal growth that shows up in daily life

This course connects insight, regulation and action, so that inner development becomes practical and visible in daily life.

Understanding

You recognise emotional patterns, beliefs and recurring behaviour.

The goal is not self-optimization. It's about becoming inwardly more stable, more conscious, and more capable of action.

Action

You translate insights into values-driven decisions and concrete steps.

Regulation

You learn to deal differently with thoughts, feelings and inner tension.

The scientific foundation of the course

The course is based on methods from psychology, neuroscience, acceptance and commitment therapy and behavioural science.

The workbook contains scientific sources and combines theoretical knowledge with practical exercises and tools. This creates a framework that is well-founded but remains applicable in everyday life.

Gregor Braun: Your guide for personal and career transitions

I am a psychological counsellor and coach in Zurich and co-founder of a private practice at Therapy Central. I hold an MSc from Utrecht University and a counselling diploma from the Paracelsus School Switzerland, and I completed training in acceptance and commitment therapy with Dr Russ Harris. I also trained as a systemic coach at Coach Akademie Schweiz.

In my work, I support people and teams through personal and professional transitions. Stress management, relationship topics, perfectionism, anxiety, moving through change and questions of meaning all have space in my work. Before working in psychological counselling, I worked in transformation-oriented companies, consultancies and academic contexts.

This experience particularly shapes my work with people for whom personal development, professional responsibility and inner orientation are closely connected.

What to know before your first conversation

Can the course help if I am feeling stuck on my career path?

At a turning point like this, the course can help with the inner side of a career change. If you feel stuck in an unfulfilling job, modules 5 and 6 work on what really matters to you and on first concrete steps in the direction you want to pursue, before you look for a new job. The job search itself and interviewing skills are not part of the course. For the practical side of a career change, psychological career counselling is the better fit.

Frequently asked questions

How much time does the course take?

Plan for six hours of one-to-one sessions per month over six months. In addition, you work with the workbook and small exercises during the week.

Do I have to be in Zurich?

No. The individual sessions can take place in person in Zurich or online.

Who is the course not suitable for?

The course is not suitable if you are in an acute emergency situation or need short-term medical help. It is also not a good fit if you don't have the time or willingness to reflect independently and put exercises into practice between sessions.

What happens in the free intro call?

We look together at your situation, what you want to achieve and whether this course is the right fit. If another offer makes more sense, we discuss that openly. You can book a free intro call directly online.

Is the course a form of therapy?

The course is psychological counselling and coaching. It does not replace psychotherapy or medical or psychiatric treatment. In acute crises or psychiatric emergencies, please turn directly to an appropriate professional, in Switzerland for example via the emergency number 144 or Die Dargebotene Hand on 143. You can read more about the difference between coaching and psychotherapy on my blog.

Does the course support professional development, such as public speaking or conflict resolution?

Partly. The course covers the personal side of professional development, meaning how you lead yourself at work and deal with pressure. It does not train techniques for public speaking or conflict resolution. You can, however, bring situations like these into the sessions and work on how you respond to them.

Which personal development course is right for me?

That depends on what you want to change. For a specific skill or general self-improvement, an online course at your own pace is often enough, as long as your motivation holds. If you want inner development to become visible in everyday life, a guided format with regular one-to-one sessions usually fits better. A group workshop is a shorter alternative, and in the intro call we can compare the options for your situation.

Can I start with psychological counselling instead?

Yes. If you're still unsure, psychological counselling can be a good first step before you decide on a longer course.
