My Psychological Approach

Change can be difficult. Not because we aren’t trying hard enough, but because we’re often focused on the wrong layer of the problem. As a psychological counselor and coach in Zurich, I use evidence-based approaches to help people create real, lasting transformation. My work integrates mainly Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Inner Child Work (ICW),

Whether you're seeking therapy in Zurich, psychological counseling for stress management, or coaching for managing anxiety, my approach is rooted in the belief that everyone has the capacity to grow when they understand and address the deeper patterns that drive their behavior.

Real Change Happens Below the Surface

Many people come to therapy or coaching because they feel stuck: unfulfilled in their job, overwhelmed by stress, or trapped in repeating patterns in relationships. It’s easy to believe the solution is to change your job, start a new routine, or push yourself harder.

But if we only address the symptoms - the visible part of the problem - we often miss what’s really going on.

I work with a model that views human experience like an iceberg:

  • Above the surface are events - the things we do or experience.

  • Beneath that lie patterns and strategies - our recurring ways of coping or avoiding.

  • Deeper still are mental models and core beliefs - the unconscious forces that shape how we see ourselves and the world

My two psychological approaches combine to work on the deeper levels of our mind:

With ICW, we explore unresolved emotional wounds from early life experiences that may still be influencing your present behavior, relationships, and sense of self-worth. Through the 6 components of ACT therapy, we explore how to step back from unhelpful thoughts, reconnect with what truly matters to you, and take committed action - even in the face of fear or uncertainty.

Example from Practice

Imagine waking up each morning with a heavy sense of dread. Work feels meaningless, and no matter how much we try to motivate ourselves, we feel stuck & disconnected from any purpose.

At first glance, this may look like simple career dissatisfaction. But when we start exploring, a deeper pattern begins to emerge: I might often choose roles that feel safe, avoid conflict, and hold back from expressing my true ideas or needs - not just at work, but in relationships too.

Through ICW, we begin to trace these patterns back to their emotional roots. Maybe I grew up in an environment where love was conditional, where expressing needs led to rejection. As a child, I learned to stay quiet, to not take up space, and to seek safety above all. These early experiences became internalized as beliefs like “I must not fail,” or “I can’t trust myself,” which continue to shape my choices today - without even realizing it.

Once we’ve brought hidden dynamics into awareness, ACT gives us the tools to move forward. Instead of avoiding discomfort or clinging to old protective strategies, I learn to accept difficult thoughts and emotions without letting them control my actions. I reconnect with my values - what truly matters to you - and begin to take small, meaningful steps in that direction, even when anxiety or stress shows up.

I stop organizing my life around old wounds & beliefs, and start building a life rooted in conscious choice.

Principles of my Work

In today's hectic and complex world, it's easy to feel overwhelmed, unbalanced, and disconnected from our own values. Often, we try to change external circumstances, hoping that this will bring us peace and stability.

But real, lasting change begins within ourselves and works from the inside out.
