What My Clients Say
When is Psychological Counseling Right For You?
Psychological counseling helps in moments when life feels heavy or unclear. It is support for adults who want new perspectives and learn ways to deal with stress, pressure, or general internal turmoil. People come because they:
feel stuck in the same emotional patterns
experience anxiety or overthinking that affects daily life
notice recurring relationship difficulties
face pressure at work or in personal life
find transitions overwhelming
want to build self-worth and emotional resilience
This work is not about quick answers. It is about understanding your experience and exploring underlying issues. About building capacity. Psychological counseling offers room to reflect, explore, and grow.
What Psychological Counseling Is and What It Is Not
Psychological counseling is a thoughtful, client-centred process. It focuses on self-compassion, mindfulness, and change over time. The aim is to help you navigate life’s challenges with greater clarity and emotional balance.
It is not medical treatment. It is not psychiatry. It does not replace therapy for acute mental health conditions that require medical care. If you are experiencing symptoms such as hallucinations, severe dissociation, or thoughts of harming yourself, you should seek immediate medical help or contact an emergency psychiatrist.
In counseling, we work together to explore your thoughts, emotions, behaviours and values. We look at how your mind makes sense of experience. Then we find paths forward that make sense for you.

Areas Of Focus
I provide you with the following services to help you overcome mental and emotional challenges:
Stress and Burnout
Sustained pressure at work or in private can exhaust your emotional resources. In my capacity as stress management coach, I provide you with tools to learn effective approaches to cope more effectively.
Anxiety and Overthinking
Anxiety often feels like a loop you cannot step out of. Together, we look at triggers, thought patterns and coping mechanisms that you can practice in daily life.
Difficulties with partners, parents, children or friends can unfold old wounds. In counseling, we look at how relationships echo your inner world and how to respond more freely.
Challenges in Relationships, Marriage & Family
Life Transitions
Adjust to new changes such as moving, separating, or changing careers with the expertise of a psychological counselor.
Turn your job back into your calling and find fulfillment in your work again. I provide you the space to reflect on values, expectations, and next steps.
Career
Self-Worth & Confidence
Low confidence is not a flaw, but a learned pattern. We work to understand its roots and expand your possibilities.
How Psychological Counseling Works
My counseling follows a simple framework that can be flexibly adjusted to your needs:
Free Introductory Session for new clients (30 minutes): We meet online or on-site. You say what is on your mind. I listen. We clarify for your goals. There is no obligation to continue.
Initial Meeting (60 minutes): We explore your current challenges in depth. We outline possible goals. We make sense of your lived experience.
Regular Sessions (usually 60 minutes): We work together on the patterns, themes and issues that matter most to you. We develop tools, insights and strategies to help you reach your goals.
Reflection and Adjustment: We review progress regularly and adapt methods as needed.
This is not a fixed “one size fits all.” It is a process responsive to your needs.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is psychological counseling the same as therapy?
No. Counseling focuses on reflection, coping and growth. Therapy may include medical elements such as diagnosis and treatment. If you require medical diagnosis, a psychiatrist or psychotherapist may be appropriate.
How many sessions will I need?
There’s no fixed number. Some clients prefer short blocks of work. Others stay longer. It depends on your goals.
Is professional counseling suitable for students?
Yes. Professional counseling can support students who are dealing with stress, pressure to perform, or personal challenges. It offers a confidential space to reflect, gain perspective, and develop coping strategies alongside academic life.
What if I need an emergency psychiatrist?
Psychological counseling is not suitable for acute crises such as depression. If you need urgent help, contact 144, 117, 143 (Die Dargebotene Hand), or 0800 33 66 55 for psychiatric emergency support in the Zurich region.
Is online therapy available?
Yes. Online therapy sessions are available and can be a suitable option if you prefer remote support or live outside Zurich. Appointments are conducted confidentially and follow the same professional standards as on-site counseling.
