Meaning arises where values provide direction.

Many people feel not only stress or restlessness, but also a deeper sense of disorientation. In such cases, it is not just a matter of finding relief, but of asking ourselves what really matters and what we want to base our lives on.

Why meaning is so important

Meaning gives our lives direction. It is not a luxury, but an essential foundation for mental stability, motivation and well-being. When people feel that their lives are connected to their inner values, they often experience greater clarity, strength and inner focus.

Where meaning arises

Meaning is not the same for everyone. It arises when we connect with something that goes beyond short-term goals or external expectations. This can be found in relationships, at work, in taking on responsibility, in personal growth or in making a contribution to others.

The role of values

Values help us to better recognise what is truly important to us. They provide guidance, particularly in times of uncertainty or change. Whilst goals can be achieved or missed, values remain an inner compass by which we can guide our actions.

The helpful question

Instead of simply asking, ‘What should I do?’, a deeper question might be:

What do I want to devote my life and energy to?
